Fun
Family Fun from Families First (IW)
We offer a range of activities to allow family members to have some fun time together.
We hope families will enjoy these activities in a group environment.
Fun - Parent and Toddler Playtime
These small, but friendly, groups meet most weeks between 9am and 11am on seperate days. We aim to provide a welcoming environment to give confidence to parents, especially those new to the group, joining in when they feel comfortable.
Fun - Arts and Crafts Sessions
We have held several sessions for parents and children to come along and enjoy artwork together. The sesions are very relaxing and an excellent stress reliever! It also gives people the opportunity to try different things. Painting, clay, glass painting, card and candle making are just some of the examples of activities undertaken.

Parent and Toddler Playtime with Families First (IW)
These small, but friendly, groups meet most weeks between 9am and 11am on seperate days. We aim to provide a welcoming environment to give confidence to parents, especially those new to the group, joining in when they feel comfortable.
We start the morning with free play, with a wide range of toys and games to choose from. Free play is followed by snack time, when children sit at the table together and have some fruit and a drink, with a cup of tea or coffee for the adults. After snack time it's activity time when parents and children can play together.
Our Parent and Toddler Playtime Sessions
During these sessions we provide stimulating 'mess' activities, which vary on a weekly basis. Activities include cutting and sticking (helping children to develop motor skills and hand-eye-coordination), shapes and colours (to encourage early recognition of primary shapes and colours) and painting (recognising shapes, colours and developing motor skills). We also sing songs or jump around to music. Sometimes we go to the park or feed the ducks.
The morning finishes with a story or a song and sometimes parents take turns reading the story.
This is a very sociable time for adults and children, enabling parent/s or carers to have fum with their child/children and take part in activities that they may not have access to at home. Children enjoy the sessions, learning to share and make new friends, which can make the transition to pre-school easier and parents enjoy meeting other parents and children.
Where to go:
Tuesday @ Nine Acres Primary School 9am - 11am
Thursday @ Carisbrooke Primary School 9am - 11am
Activities include:
Painting, mark making, decorating biscuits, collages, pasta shapes, sponge painting and much more.
